What began with a powerful press conference has now blossomed into a dynamic nationwide plantation drive as the Children Islamic Organisation (CIO) enters the second week of its ambitious campaign. With unwavering dedication and youthful energy, CIO’s young warriors are bringing green change to every corner of the country.
From Aligarh Muslim University to local mosques, colleges, hospitals, and homes, saplings are being planted with care and purpose. The campaign is not just an environmental effort, but a movement of social consciousness and active youth participation.
The idea was simple: turn the attention from microphones to mud – and that’s exactly what these young changemakers have done. The press conferences were held to raise awareness and build momentum, and now the mission has taken root across campuses and communities.
“It’s inspiring to see children and youth stepping up – not just talking about change but becoming the change,” said a CIO coordinator Asra Baig of UP East.
Adding a natural boost to the initiative, favourable weather conditions have aided plantation efforts, ensuring better survival rates for the saplings. Rain-kissed soil and cooler temperatures have been the perfect allies in this green mission.
The drive has already resulted in hundreds of saplings planted, with daily increases as more volunteers join in. The movement is being hailed as one of the most unique youth-led environmental initiatives in the country.
“The enthusiasm and dedication of these young warriors prove that the future of our environment is in responsible hands,” said Nasreen Shakir, Executive Committee Member, Children Department Markaz.
