Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin expressed deep anguish over the ongoing crisis in Gaza, urging the international community to act without delay. In a social media post, he said he was “shaken beyond words by what is unfolding in Gaza” and described the situation as unbearable.
Mr. Stalin stated that Gaza was “gasping” under relentless bombardment and appealed to the world not to look away. Referring to reports from the region, he said every image from Gaza was “gut wrenching,” capturing the cries of infants, starving children, and the destruction of hospitals. He also noted the United Nations Commission of Inquiry’s declaration of genocide, calling it undeniable evidence of large-scale suffering.
Highlighting the human cost of the conflict, Mr. Stalin said no one should ever face such conditions. He stressed that when innocent lives are being destroyed, silence is unacceptable. “Every conscience must rise. India must speak firmly, the world must unite, and we must all act to end this horror now,” he said.
His statement adds to a growing chorus of voices in India and worldwide calling for urgent action and accountability. With casualties mounting daily and humanitarian agencies reporting shortages of food, medicine, and shelter, Mr. Stalin’s remarks underline the urgent need for international solidarity with Gaza’s civilians.
