Ghalib Institute Expresses Condolences on Passing of Dr. Manmohan Singh

New Delhi: The demise of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has sparked an outpouring of condolences from political and social circles across the nation. Joining the mourners, the renowned Urdu literary institution, Ghalib Institute, expressed deep sorrow over his passing.

In a statement, Professor Siddiqur Rahman Kidwai, Secretary of the Ghalib Institute, highlighted Dr. Singh’s remarkable contributions as India’s Prime Minister. “His services to the nation are unforgettable. His intellectual brilliance, expertise in economics, and dedication to public service earned him admiration not only in India but also on the global stage,” Kidwai said.

He noted that Dr. Singh’s passing has sent shockwaves around the world, particularly for the Ghalib Institute, where he served as a trustee, marking his death as a personal loss for the institution.

Dr. Idris Ahmed, Director of the Ghalib Institute, also paid tribute, emphasising Dr. Singh’s pivotal role in ushering India into a new era of economic reforms. “Under his leadership, India made significant progress toward becoming a global economic powerhouse. Even amidst global financial crises, he ensured stability for the Indian economy. His death is an irreparable loss to the country and its people,” Ahmed remarked.

On behalf of the trustees and staff of the Ghalib Institute, Dr. Ahmed extended heartfelt condolences to Dr. Singh’s family and loved ones, sharing in their grief during this difficult time.

The tribute from the Ghalib Institute underscores Dr. Manmohan Singh’s exceptional legacy as a leader and visionary, whose contributions to the nation and the world will be remembered for generations to come.
