Global Experts on Unani Medicine Gather for National Workshop Inauguration

New Delhi, Feb. 23: In an impressive gathering of minds, the Centre of Excellence in Unani Medicine, Jamia Hamdard was abuzz with anticipation as it hosted the inauguration of a much-awaited workshop. Prof. M. Afshar Alam, Vice Chancellor, Jamia Hamdard graced the occasion, marking a significant stride in collaborative learning and innovation.

The workshop, spearheaded by Prof. Asim Ali Khan as Organizing Chairman and Prof. Sayeed Ahmad, Organizing Secretary, kicked off with an auspicious start. This intellectual conclave welcomed Prof. Marco Leonti, University of Cagliari, Italy, and Prof Mohammad F. Alajmi, King Saud University, KSA, bringing international expertise to the local scene. Coordinated by Prof. Anwar Hussain Khan, Dr. Mohammad Ahmed Khan, Dr. Rabea Parveen, Dr. Abida Parveen, Dr. Azhar Jabeen, and Dr. Shazia Jilani, the event was meticulously planned to cater to the diverse range of topics and discussions.

The chairpersons, Dr. Nahid Parveen and Dr. Yogita Munjal, were instrumental in steering the event towards success. The three-day national workshop promised a series of engaging sessions aimed at fostering knowledge exchange and professional growth.

National workshop comprised skill-based learning for Capacity Building of Ayush Professionals. It will be based on latest research-based techniques, including in silico docking, network pharmacology & AI-based skills on first day followed by Systematic review, Meta analysis and Zebra fish as screening method on the second day as well as in vitro cytotoxicity testing on third-day lectures followed by hands-on training.

It witnessed the presence of more than 60 delegates from all across the country, excluding two international participants. A galaxy of 15 experts have been invited for their expert talks and hands-on training during the three-day program ending on February 25.

As the sessions unfold, the Centre of Excellence lives up to its name, providing an exceptional platform for learning and discussion. This three-day national workshop is a testament to the commitment of local and international experts in contributing to the advancement of their respective fields for development of Ayush medicine in India, especially Unani.
