GRP Officer Nazar Daulat Khan Assaulted by Drunk Men at Bhopal Railway Station; One Arrested

Bhopal: In a shocking incident at Rani Kamlapati Railway Station, Government Railway Police (GRP) officer Nazar Daulat Khan was assaulted by three intoxicated men in the early hours of Saturday, reported the India Today.
The altercation occurred in the car parking area during the intervening night of April 26 and 27. According to the police, Officer Khan noticed three young men drinking alcohol within the parking premises. When he approached and instructed them to stop consuming alcohol in public, the men responded aggressively, hurling abuses at him.
The confrontation quickly turned violent. During the scuffle, one of the men tore Khan’s uniform while the others joined in assaulting him. Despite attempts by Khan’s colleagues, Sandeep and Kamal, to intervene, the attackers remained aggressive. For his own safety, Khan decided to withdraw from the scene.
A formal complaint was lodged by Khan, leading the GRP to register a case and initiate an investigation. Acting promptly, authorities arrested one of the accused, identified as Jitendra Yadav. However, the other two assailants fled and are currently on the run. Police teams are actively searching for them.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety of police personnel in public areas. Officials have assured that strict action will be taken against all involved, emphasizing the need for responsible behavior in public spaces.
