Mumbai: In preparation for the upcoming Ramadan, Jamia Hanfia Razvia, Colaba, Mumbai, organized a special session to guide first-time Huffaz who will be leading Tarawih prayers. Qari Niaz Ahmed Qadri, Deputy Administrator of the institution, outlined ten essential points to ensure a proper and spiritually uplifting recitation of the Holy Quran during the night prayers.
Qari Niaz emphasized that leading Tarawih is a sacred responsibility, requiring correct recitation, humility, and devotion. He urged the Huffaz to revise the Quran thoroughly beforehand to minimize errors and to maintain a balanced pace, ensuring that the congregation can follow with ease. Proper Tajweed, understanding pauses for breath, and maintaining cleanliness were also highlighted as key factors in delivering a dignified prayer experience.
Other guidelines included avoiding heavy meals before Tarawih for better concentration, leading prayers with composure and humility, and displaying politeness towards the congregation. Huffaz were advised to accept corrections with an open heart and, if offering advice after prayers, to keep it brief and gentle. They were also reminded to respect mosque administrators, elders, and scholars, and to be prepared with an alternative Hafiz in case of illness, ensuring an uninterrupted prayer experience.
Qari Niaz stressed that leading Tarawih is an entrusted responsibility and must be undertaken with sincerity and dedication to instill a deep love and reverence for the Holy Quran in the hearts of worshippers.
