Hamas official alleges social media accounts linked to Israel promote ‘fabricated’ video

24 July 2024: A member of the Hamas Political Bureau said on Tuesday that social media accounts linked to the Israeli security forces are being used to circulate a fake video in which threats are made to carry out attacks in Paris because of Israeli participation in the Olympic Games. The threats are claimed to have been made by the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, reports Middle East Monitor.

“This fabricated video is part of Israeli propaganda aimed at inciting against the Palestinian resistance,” said Izzat Al-Rishq. “Such attempts are designed to tarnish the image of the resistance and influence international public opinion against it.”

Al-Rishq stressed the need to boycott Israel in all fields in response to the genocide carried out by Israeli forces against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

Ever since the cross-border incursion led by Hamas fighters on 7 October, Israel has been waging a devastating war against the Palestinians in Gaza. The Israeli offensive has killed 40,000 Palestinians and wounded more than 90,000 others, mainly children and women. An estimated 10,000 Palestinians are missing, presumed dead, under the rubble of their homes and other civilian infrastructure destroyed by Israel. At least 90 percent of the population in Gaza has been displaced, the UN has confirmed.
