Hamas Slams Israeli Attack on Gaza Aid Seekers as ‘Worse Than Nazi Crimes’

Gaza – Senior Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri has strongly condemned Israel’s recent attack on Palestinian aid seekers in Rafah, calling it “worse than the crimes of fascists and Nazis.” He urged the Islamic world to rise and confront the ongoing atrocities in Gaza, as per a report by the IRNA.
The Gaza Government Media Office earlier reported that Israeli forces opened fire on hundreds of Palestinian civilians gathered near an aid distribution center in southern Gaza. The attack resulted in at least 30 deaths and left dozens more injured.
Speaking to the press, Abu Zuhri declared, “This massacre is a message to the Islamic Ummah and all freedom-loving people of the world — the time has come to stand up against these killers.” He further held the United States responsible for enabling Israeli aggression through its continued military and political support.
He also criticized the stalled ceasefire talks, stating that Hamas had shown willingness to cooperate with U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff’s proposals, only to face rejection. “The U.S. administration prioritizes Israeli prisoners while ignoring the ongoing genocide in Gaza,” he said.
International humanitarian organizations have also denounced the attack. One prominent group warned that the U.S.-Israeli aid plan is “catastrophically failing,” adding to the growing criticism from the United Nations and aid agencies.
Since March 2, Israel has enforced a total blockade on humanitarian aid to Gaza in an attempt to pressure Hamas into accepting a ceasefire deal on Israeli terms. The alternative aid route proposed by Israel and the U.S., intended to bypass U.N.-backed programs, has drawn international condemnation for serving strategic military objectives rather than humanitarian needs.
The situation in Rafah underscores the deepening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where civilians face starvation, bombardment, and blocked access to essential aid.
