Headaches, Coughs, Fatigue: India’s Top Health Searches in 2025

NEW DELHI: India’s online searches in 2025 highlight growing public concern about health. Google Trends shows that common symptoms dominated search queries, reflecting awareness of both minor ailments and serious conditions.

Headaches ranked as the most searched symptom. Many Indians sought information to distinguish between stress-related or sinus headaches and more serious conditions like migraines or neurological disorders. Fever remained another top query, with users trying to understand whether high temperatures signal infections like pneumonia or milder viral illnesses.

Respiratory issues drove significant search traffic. Coughs, shortness of breath, and sore throat were widely researched. These symptoms reflect seasonal flu trends, pollution-related health effects, and the ongoing presence of Covid-19 variants. Searches for fatigue also rose, indicating concern over conditions such as anemia, sleep disorders, and chronic illnesses.

Digestive health drew attention too. Stomach cramps, diarrhea, nausea, and general body aches were common searches, pointing to food-related illnesses, viral infections, and lifestyle-induced digestive issues. Chest pain, hair loss, skin rashes, and unexplained weight changes were also widely queried, highlighting concerns about cardiovascular health, hormonal imbalance, stress, and autoimmune conditions.

Mental health symptoms, including anxiety, stress, and insomnia, appeared frequently in searches, showing the increasing intersection of psychological and physical well-being. Loss of taste and smell remained relevant due to new Covid-19 variants and neurological concerns.

Experts caution against relying solely on online information. Persistent or severe symptoms should be evaluated by medical professionals to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment.
