The Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah announced on Tuesday that it had bombed Israel’s Samson Remote Controlled Weapon Station military base with Fadi-3 rockets, the first time that the Fadi-3 has been used in action. The movement pointed out that base near the Golani Junction, west of Lake Tiberias, serves as a command centre and a regional equipment unit for the Israel occupation forces, reports Middle East Monitor.
Al-Mayadeen’s correspondent in the south of Lebanon reported that the Samson base is approximately 35 kilometres from the Lebanese border and is part of the Northern Command area of the occupation army. He said that the Sky Dew balloon system, which Hezbollah had previously taken out of service, is located in the vicinity of this base.
Hezbollah also launched rocket salvos at the settlement of Rosh Pina and attacked the main warehouses of the northern region in the Nimra base with dozens of rockets, as well as the Hagoshrim settlement.
Israeli media confirmed that eight rockets fell in Rosh Pina near Safed, five of which hit buildings, causing a number of injuries and damage to infrastructure. It was also confirmed that rockets fell in Kiryat Bialik. Air raid sirens were heard in the north of Israel, with 105 rockets fired by Hezbollah within an hour and a half. One Israeli media platform reported explosions and fires in Safed and Katzrin.
Hezbollah’s operations come after it carried out a series of operations since yesterday morning, targeting Israel’s Eliakim camp south of Haifa, and Megiddo military airport, west of Afula.
The movement is expanding its attacks towards the occupied Palestinian territories despite the widespread Israeli aggression against villages in the south of Lebanon and the Beqaa Valley. It reaffirmed that its operations against the occupation state are in solidarity with the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, as well as in defence of Lebanon and its people.
