Hindus, Muslims are not enemies; evils are enemies: Akbar Ali Udupi

Bengaluru: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Karnataka State Secretary Akbar Ali Udupi said the solution to the problems faced by the human race today lies in the teachings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

He recently chaired a Seerah programme organized by JIH Mysore Road unit in Valmiki Nagar on the topic “Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is a Great Character”.

Some people say Hindus and Muslims are enemies of each other. But, in reality, the evils like obscenity, drunkenness, usury and bribery are the enemies of all of us. He said efforts should be made to eradicate these evils from society. These evils have taken society in their grip, and young generation is succumbing to these, he added. Evils do not distinguish between communities and gender. We should all strive to overpower the common enemy together.

Akbar Ali said, unfortunately vested interests are busy only in creating rift between communities and ignoring the societal monster.

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is not only the Prophet of Muslims but also the Prophet of all human beings in this world. His message is eternal, universal, authentic and perfect, he said. The noble Prophet was able to eradicate evils from the society with inclusive struggle during his time. His teachings are very much relevant today, Akbar Ali said.

JIH State Joint Secretary Riyaz Ahmed Ron delivered the introductory speech. Iqbal Ahmed Gudiyal, president of the unit and City vice president Dr. Syed Fakhruddin Qazi were present on the occasion. A good number of Hindus and Muslims, including women, from the area attended the programme.
