Yemen’s Houthi group has claimed responsibility for launching a missile strike targeting Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport, as per a report by the Al Jazeera.According to a statement released by the group, the operation was carried out as part of their ongoing campaign in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza amid the Israeli offensive.
The Houthis, who control large parts of Yemen, have frequently expressed their support for the Palestinian cause and have launched several attacks in recent months aimed at Israeli and allied targets. The missile reportedly traveled a long range, although no confirmation has yet been made by Israeli authorities regarding any impact at or near the airport.
The attack, if verified, marks a significant escalation in the regional dimensions of the conflict, raising concerns over broader instability and increased tensions involving other Middle Eastern actors.
The Houthis vowed to continue their operations until what they described as Israeli aggression in Gaza comes to an end, further complicating an already volatile regional security environment.
