Hyderabad: Hyderabad got direct air connectivity to Madinah with IndiGo Airlines launching its flight.
The new service will operate three times a week on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday. The flight time is about 5 hours and 47 minutes.
The flight will depart from Hyderabad at 19.35 hrs and arrive in Madinah at 23.45 hrs. In the return direction, the flight departs from Madinah at 00.45 hrs and reach Hyderabad at 08.10 hrs.
The airlines said this thrice-weekly service provides convenient and affordable travel options for pilgrims and other travellers visiting this holy city.
IndiGo now operates over 100 flights a week from various cities in India to 4 destinations in Saudi Arabia (Riyadh, Dammam, Jeddah and Madinah).
The airline said Madinah holds immense spiritual significance and is home to the Prophet’s Mosque, Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, which houses the tomb of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Madinah is a place of deep reverence and a central destination for pilgrims undertaking Hajj and Umrah.
The city’s serene atmosphere and historical importance create a profound spiritual experience for visitors. Beyond its religious significance, Madinah also offers a glimpse into the rich history and culture of Islam, with numerous historical sites and museums that showcase the city’s heritage.
