New Delhi: The literary world mourns the loss of Dr. Tabish Mehdi, a distinguished writer, critic, and esteemed poet, known for his exceptional contributions to the Urdu literature. With several prose and poetic works to his credit, Dr. Mehdi’s passing has left a significant void, especially in the circles of Islamic literary movement.
The Idara-e-Adab-e-Islami Hind expressed deep sorrow at the demise of Dr. Mehdi, offering prayers for his forgiveness and extending heartfelt condolences to his family, students, and associates.
“Dr. Mehdi’s departure has created a profound emptiness in the literary community, particularly among the circles committed to the Islamic literary movement,” said the organisation.
Dr. Mehdi was a founding member of Idara-e-Adab-e-Islami Hind and served in various capacities, including Secretary, Vice President, and a member of its executive council. His invaluable contributions to the organisation and literature have been widely acknowledged.
The General Secretary of Idara-e-Adab-e-Islami Hind, Muhammad Hasnain, prayed for Allah’s mercy upon Dr. Mehdi, asking for his elevation to Jannat-ul-Firdous and strength for his family and disciples during this difficult time.
