INDIA Bloc Predicts Over 295 Seats in Lok Sabha Elections: Kharge

New Delhi, June 2: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge announced that the INDIA bloc anticipates winning more than 295 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, based on public feedback. This prediction came after a two-and-a-half-hour meeting of top Opposition leaders at Kharge’s residence, where strategies for counting day were discussed. Kharge criticized the BJP for allegedly using government exit polls to mislead the public and stressed the importance of transparency.

Votes for the seven-phase general elections will be counted on June 4. Kharge emphasized that the INDIA bloc’s figure is derived from extensive consultations with alliance leaders and feedback from the populace, countering what he termed inflated figures from government-aligned media.

Kharge further detailed the Opposition’s strategies, including specific instructions to party workers to ensure they remain vigilant throughout the vote-counting process and secure election certificates.

Notable attendees included Sharad Pawar, Akhilesh Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, Sitaram Yechury, Arvind Kejriwal, Bhagwant Mann, and other senior leaders from various opposition parties. Despite the absence of TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee due to state elections and PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti for personal reasons, the meeting underscored a unified front.

Kharge urged the Election Commission and international observers to ensure a fair electoral process, maintaining that the INDIA bloc’s projected success reflects genuine public sentiment.
