Indian Muslims Condemn Red Fort Blast, Affirm Unity Against Terror

New Delhi: Citizens for Fraternity (CFF), a collective of prominent Indian Muslims, has strongly condemned the Red Fort blast, calling it an assault on India’s shared heritage and unity. In a statement, the group declared that Indian Muslims stand united against all forms of terror.

The statement emphasized that such acts of violence should never be linked to any community or to Kashmiris, who have also faced deep suffering and remain an integral part of the Indian family. CFF’s message comes amid heightened public concern after police uncovered a terror module linked to Jaish-e-Mohammad and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, arresting eight individuals, including three doctors.

Among the key members of Citizens for Fraternity are former Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung, former Chief Election Commissioner S Y Qureshi, Lt Gen (Retd) Zameer Uddin Shah, former MP Shahid Siddiqui, and industrialist Saeed Mustafa Sherwani.

CFF describes itself as a platform of eminent Muslim citizens committed to promoting understanding and communication among communities to bridge divides and strengthen national harmony.

The Red Fort explosion, which struck a slow-moving vehicle near the monument, has prompted a multi-state investigation. Authorities have seized around 2,500 kilograms of ammonium nitrate, potassium chlorate, and sulphur from operations in Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. Forensic experts are now examining whether these materials match the explosive used in the blast.
