Indian-Origin Passenger Makes Bomb Threat on UK Flight, Shouting “Allahu Akbar”, “Death to America” and “Death to Trump”

London/Glasgow– A disturbing mid‑air incident aboard an EasyJet flight from London Luton Airport to Glasgow Airport led to an emergency landing and an arrest after a passenger reportedly issued bomb threats and shouted slogans targeting U.S. President Donald Trump, reported the Madhyamam.
A man, identified by some reports as 41‑year‑old Abhay Nayak, emerged from the rear onboard restroom mid‑flight and began shouting “Allahu Akbar” (“God is great”), declaring he had a bomb and yelling “Death to America! Death to Trump!” . The passenger then walked down the aisle, raising his fist as passengers looked on in fear .
Fellow travelers sprang into action—one man tackled the suspect to the cabin floor while others joined in restraining him until the plane landed safely in Glasgow . No explosives were found on the aircraft, and no injuries were reported. Authorities later confirmed that the incident was contained and appeared to involve only the individual in question .
Police Scotland boarded the aircraft upon landing at approximately 8:20 a.m. local time on Sunday, July 27, 2025, arresting the man who remains in custody under investigation. Counter‑terrorism officers are examining video footage of the incident .
According to EasyJet, Flight EZY609 operated from Luton to Glasgow and was met by police on arrival. The airline stated that its crew acted swiftly and appropriately, affirming that passenger and crew safety is its highest priority.
At the time of the incident, President Trump was visiting Scotland, staying near the Turnberry golf resort. According to statements from witnesses, the suspect claimed his outburst was intended as a message directed at Trump, who was reportedly about an hour away by air from the flight’s path .
Investigations are ongoing. The suspect has reportedly been charged under UK laws related to threatening aircraft safety, while authorities continue to evaluate the motive behind the incident .
