Indian Religious and Social Leaders Call for Peaceful Demonstration in Solidarity with Palestine

New Delhi: A united front of prominent religious, community, and social leaders across India has issued a joint appeal for a peaceful sit-in at Jantar Mantar on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 3:00 PM, to express solidarity with the people of Palestine.
The appeal comes amid intensifying Israeli aggression in recent days, which has led to the martyrdom and injury of thousands of innocent men, women, and children. The leaders stressed that the unfolding situation in Palestine represents not only a humanitarian crisis but also a grave moral challenge to the global conscience.
Calling participation in the protest a “moral and spiritual duty,” the leaders emphasized the need for India’s citizens to raise a collective voice for peace, justice, and human rights. They underlined that the demonstration aims to awaken international awareness and demand an end to the ongoing persecution and genocide in Palestine.
The peaceful sit-in at Jantar Mantar is expected to bring together people from diverse backgrounds, including representatives of various schools of thought, human rights defenders, and social and political organizations. The leaders stated that the event will stand as a powerful symbol of unity, brotherhood, and India’s unwavering support for the oppressed people of Palestine.
