Jaipur: Four Indian scientists—Dr. Aarif Khan, Dr. Nupur Bhatnagar, Dr. Tripti Yadav, and Dr. Garima Sharma—have received a patent for their invention, the “Portable Food Microbiology Analyser.”
The patent was granted by the Government of India’s Patent Office. It was registered under category 24-01 on April 4, 2025, and certified on July 9, 2025.
Dr. Aarif Khan said the device can quickly identify and analyse microorganisms in food. It helps the food industry and public health sector. It makes food testing easier, faster, and more effective.
The patent was issued under the Patents Act, 2000, and the Designs Rules, 2001. It was granted by the Controller General of Patents, Designs, and Trademarks.
This invention shows the creativity and research skills of Indian scientists. Dr. Aarif Khan, the lead scientist, is from Masani village in Tibbi tehsil, Hanumangarh district, Rajasthan. He now works at Curaj under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
As a government employee, Dr. Khan promised to donate any future earnings from this patent to the Government of India. He wants to support research and innovation. This reflects his patriotism and honesty in science.
