Ahmedabad, Aug 23: The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has announced its decision to participate actively in the upcoming Gujarat Assembly elections. Speaking at a press conference in Ahmedabad, party leaders emphasized that preparations are well underway, as IUML aims to establish a stronger foothold in the state, reported ETV Bharat
In an effort to bolster their presence, the Muslim Youth League, a branch of IUML, held a meeting at the Circuit House here recently. During this gathering, party officials discussed strategies related to the upcoming Gujarat Assembly elections and the expansion of party membership.
Advocate Hashim Qureshi highlighted the IUML’s long-standing role in Indian politics, stating, “The Indian Union Muslim League has been working on a national level since 1948. Our party is also actively engaged here in Gujarat, striving to make its presence felt. However, there is a lack of political awareness among the public regarding the IUML. It is important to note that the Muslim League is a party for people of all religions.”
Junaiduddin Shaikh, President of the Muslim Youth League Gujarat, added, “The Muslim League is not a new party. Since 1995, the League has had a presence in Gujarat and has consistently operated at the national level. While it may be unfamiliar to the younger generation in Gujarat, the party has always adhered to constitutional principles. We are committed to addressing the issues faced by the common people and minorities in Gujarat.”
As the Gujarat Assembly elections approach, the IUML is determined to strengthen its base and engage with the electorate on key issues impacting the state’s diverse communities.
