Indonesia to Build 100 Mosques in Gaza Before Ramadan

The Indonesian Council of Mosques (DMI) plans to build 100 mosques in Gaza before Ramadan. This comes after Israeli forces damaged or destroyed over 1,000 mosques.
As Palestinians return home after a ceasefire, many lack places for prayer. To address this, DMI will construct semi-permanent mosques, aiming for completion before Ramadan.
Ramadan is expected to begin on March 1 or 2, 2025, depending on the moon sighting. DMI Chairman Jusuf Kalla said this move shows solidarity with Palestinian Muslims.
Kalla is in talks with Hamas to ensure smooth execution. He stressed the need to identify suitable sites quickly. If all goes well, DMI aims to complete all 100 mosques.
Meanwhile, Malaysia has announced plans to build a school and a hospital in Gaza.
