Interfaith Eid Milap Programme Promotes Unity and Harmony in Yellandu, Telangana

Yellandu, Telangana: In a vibrant show of communal harmony and brotherhood, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Yellandu, organized a grand Eid Milap programme on the evening of April 4 at Singareni High School Grounds. The event brought together people of different faiths, united under the spirit of Eid and the message of peace.
The programme was graced by Sri Koram Kanakaiah, MLA of Yellandu, who attended as the Chief Guest. He emphasized the importance of preserving communal harmony in today’s times. “India’s strength lies in its diversity. Events like these reaffirm our commitment to unity and shared values,” he said.
The evening also featured insightful addresses from prominent religious leaders and social thinkers. Sri Koduri Hari Gopal Sharma, a priest from Lakshmi Ganapathi Temple, said, “Our scriptures too promote love, service, and peace. It is heartening to see people of all religions coming together.”
Rev. Dr. P. John Babu of St. John’s Church, Yellandu, called for mutual respect and dialogue. “Religions may differ, but our humanity binds us. Let’s celebrate each other’s festivals with open hearts.”
Janab Sadiq Ahmed, a member of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind’s State Advisory Committee, Telangana, stressed the role of Eid in promoting brotherhood. “Eid reminds us to care for the poor and needy and to embrace everyone with love and respect.”
The highlight of the programme was the inspiring address by the Chief guest, Dr. Ayesha Sultana, Asst.Editor of Radiance and member of the National Human Rights and Justice Commission. In her powerful speech, she said, “In a time of rising hate and division, this Eid Milap is not just an event, but a bold message. It says: we will not let hatred divide us. As Indians, as human beings, our values are love, justice and peace.” She also urged women and youth to be proactive in promoting inclusive dialogue and defending constitutional values.
The programme witnessed the esteemed presence of several distinguished guests, including Sri V. Krishnaiah (General Manager, Singareni Collieries, Yellandu), Farooq Yazdani (District President, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind), Sri D. Venkateswara Rao Garu (Ex-Municipal Chairman), Sri K. Sanjeev Reddy (BJP Town President), Sri K. Saraiah (AITUC Deputy General Secretary), Sri SA. Nabi (AWAAZ District Secretary), Sri D. Daniel (Congress Party Town President), Sri Mudragada Vamsi (TDP Yellandu Incharge), Dr. Parsa Vijay Lakshmi (MBBS, DGO, Gynaecologist), and Dr. Kalpana (MBBS, DGO, Gynaecologist).
A large crowd of men and women from various faiths attended the programme with enthusiasm and joy, making it a memorable evening of unity and brotherhood. The event was hosted by Siraj Ahmed, President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Yellandu, who welcomed the guests and audience with warm hospitality.
The programme concluded with heartfelt duas and a renewed pledge to promote peace, understanding, and unity across all communities.
