Interfaith Women’s Visit to Mosque Promotes Harmony and Understanding

Mumbai, May 7: In a heartwarming display of unity and understanding, over 40 non-Muslim women visited a mosque in the Crawford Market area on Saturday. Organized by the Women’s Wing of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Mumbai, the visit aimed to foster mutual respect and bridge cultural divides.

Led by Dr. Fareeda Akhtar, the program included informative sessions on prayer, ablution, and the significance of various aspects of the mosque. Participants were shown the designated prayer area for women, the ablution facilities, and other amenities within the mosque premises.

Addressing misconceptions and promoting inclusivity, Dr. Saeed Ahmad Khan emphasized that mosques are open to all, regardless of faith, and serve as spaces for communal harmony and worship. He stressed the importance of dispelling misunderstandings and fostering an environment of love and understanding.

The visit also included a session led by Dr. Rihana Deekh, focusing on the essence of prayer and the importance of communal unity. Participants were encouraged to engage in dialogue and learn from each other’s perspectives, fostering a sense of camaraderie and mutual respect.

Commenting on the initiative, Mufti Mohammad Ashfaq Qazi, the mosque’s leader, expressed his enthusiasm and welcomed the opportunity to educate visitors about Islam and its practices. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in promoting interfaith understanding and cooperation.

The event concluded with a message of unity and inclusivity, with attendees expressing their gratitude for the insightful experience.
