IPS officer Tafseer Iqbal appointed secretary minorities welfare

Hyderabad, March 8: The government of Telangana has appointed Indian Police Service (IPS) official Tafseer Iqbal as Special Secretary to Government and Commissioner, Minorities Welfare Department.

The IPS officer of 2008 batch will succeed Syed Omer Jaleel, a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) official.

Omer Jaleel retired in September 2022 but last year the government appointed him Secretary and Commissioner, Minorities Welfare.

Tafseer Iqbal is currently holding the post of Deputy Inspector General of Police, Intelligence Security Wing (ISW). The government has placed him in full additional charge of the post of Deputy Inspector General of Police, Intelligence Security Wing.
