Sikar, Feb. 23: Given the importance of education, the Muslims here have formed the IQRA Foundation Society.
Iqra Foundation President Shamshad Khan said that the Quran says:
Read (Iqra)! In the name of your Lord Who has created (all that exists). He has created man from a clot (of congealed blood). Read (Iqra)! And your Lord is the most Generous, Who has taught man by the pen. He has taught man that which he did not know. (Al-Quran 96:1-5)
This initial revelation commenced with the directive to “read”, indicating the domination of “knowledge” and importance of “pen”.
The name, IQRA Foundation has been derived therefrom.
Shamshad Khan said Iqra Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to advancing brilliance in education by developing value-based integrated curriculum, increasing awareness in public and awakening society to invest in education.
He said, “Our mission is to serve and engage the society in progressive ventures of education, social upliftment, inculcate moral values, inspiring youth to be prolific and exemplary professionals.”
He said Iqra Foundation’s vision is to build strong institutions to provide value-based quality education and shape every aspiring individual into a noble being. “For this, we need a safe, secure and healthy environment for our youth to learn, grow and rise high in their respective domains.”
“We believe the roots should be firm, embedding knowledge and education. To accomplish this herculean task, we must persevere with honesty, transparency and integrity.”
In the first phase, the Foundation is building a girls hostel with boarding facility for 100 girls. The hostel is almost ready and is likely to be inaugurated in June or July this year. This hostel will accommodate Muslim girls preparing for NEET, JEE and other competitive examinations.
The Foundation plans to provide coaching centres for competitive examinations, training and education institutions, a hospital and medical college in coming times.
