Iranian Artists Condemn US-Israeli Aggression, Express Solidarity with Homeland

Prominent Iranian artists, including two-time Oscar-winning filmmaker Asghar Farhadi, have strongly condemned the ongoing military aggression by Israel, backed by the United States, against Iran.
In a powerful open letter addressed to UNESCO and published in Iran’s Etemad Daily, Farhadi and fellow signatories expressed deep concern over the violence and its impact on their homeland.
“These days and nights, our dear Iran is going through turbulent and sad conditions,” the letter read. Despite the “dangerous situation,” Iranian artists, film actors, directors, and cinematographers affirmed their commitment to stand united and “fight for Iran.”
The signatories highlighted that the military onslaught not only endangers lives but also puts Iran’s rich cultural and artistic legacy at risk.
Among the signatories is Iranian-American actor Peyman Maadi, known internationally for his contributions to cinema.
According to Iranian officials, more than 400 people, including 13 children, have been killed, and over 3,056 injured since Israel began its attack on June 13. In retaliation, Iranian strikes have killed at least 24 in Israel.
The situation has escalated into a full-scale conflict, with explosions reported in Tehran following Israeli strikes on government and military targets. Simultaneously, Iran has launched waves of missiles and drones into Israeli territory, with multiple cities experiencing blasts.
