Tehran — Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, issued a stern warning to the United States, declaring that any military intervention against Iran would result in “irreparable consequences.” His remarks come amid escalating conflict between Iran and Israel, now entering its sixth consecutive day, heightening fears of a full-blown regional war.
In a televised speech carried by Press TV, Mehr News, and Tasnim News Agency, Khamenei emphasized that the U.S. must understand the severe repercussions of any hostile move. “No one who knows Iran, its people, and its history will dare to threaten this nation. The Iranian people are not ones to be subdued,” he said.
Referring to Israel’s recent actions, Khamenei accused the Zionist state of committing a “grave mistake” and vowed retaliation. He condemned the violation of Iran’s airspace and pledged that the nation would not stay silent in the face of aggression. “We will never forget the blood of our martyrs,” he asserted.
Khamenei stated that Iran’s armed forces are “fully prepared” to defend the country and are receiving full backing from the government. He also emphasized Iran’s resistance to coercion, saying, “We stood firm against an imposed war, and we will do the same against imposed peace.”
Reacting to a demand for “complete surrender” by U.S. President Donald Trump, Khamenei posted on X, saying, “The American president uses absurd language, asking the Iranian nation to surrender. Such threats are meaningless for a nation that does not fear threats.”
Since the conflict ignited on Friday, June 13, Iran has reported at least 224 deaths, including 70 women and children, and 1,277 injuries. On the Israeli side, casualties range between 18 and 20, with more than 390 injured.
Iran reportedly launched hypersonic Fattah-1 missiles targeting Tel Aviv, with explosions shaking the city overnight. In retaliation, Israeli fighter jets struck several sites in Tehran, including a university affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards, following evacuation warnings issued to hundreds of thousands of civilians.
President Trump has denied direct American involvement in Israeli operations but warned Iran that his patience is running thin.
