Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei delivered a rare and forceful sermon today, defending Hamas’ attacks on Israel and condemning the actions of the U.S. and its allies in the region. Addressing a large gathering at a mosque in Tehran, Khamenei claimed that the U.S. and its partners are maintaining Israel’s security to serve their own economic interests, particularly to facilitate energy exports to the West, reports The Times of India.
In his address, Khamenei declared that the resistance against Israel, led by groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah, would not waver. “The Al-Aqsa Flood attacks last year were a logical and legal international move,” Khamenei said, defending Hamas’ strikes on Israel as justified in light of Israeli provocations.
He vowed that Iran would not hesitate to fulfill its responsibilities in opposing Israel and emphasized that Israel’s influence in the region would soon diminish. “The Zionist nation will not last long,” Khamenei proclaimed, asserting that Israel’s military strength was insufficient to seriously harm Hezbollah or Hamas.
In an emotional tribute, Khamenei spoke of Hezbollah leader Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah, who was recently killed in an Israeli airstrike. He lauded Nasrallah as a “brave supporter of the oppressed” and assured that his legacy would continue to inspire the youth of Hezbollah and the broader resistance movement across the Middle East.
Khamenei urged Muslim nations to unite in defense, stating, “Muslim nations must stand together, from Afghanistan to Yemen, from Iran to Gaza and Lebanon.” He emphasized that the enemies of Iran are also the enemies of Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, and other Islamic nations, pointing out that despite operating in different regions, the forces working against these countries are connected by a unified agenda.
Khamenei’s speech reflects Iran’s deepening commitment to supporting resistance movements in the region, framing the ongoing conflict with Israel as an enduring struggle for justice and the protection of the Muslim world.
