In a major intervention, MP Isha Khan Chaudhary secured the release of Amir Sheikh, a Jalalpur resident wrongly deported to Bangladesh.
Sheikh had been working in Rajasthan when authorities detained him. He was mistaken for an illegal Bangladeshi immigrant and expelled. The Central Government misidentified him as a Bangladeshi citizen. This caused severe distress to Sheikh and his family.

The MP took several steps to resolve the case. He met the Union Home Secretary in Delhi. He also met the Director General of the BSF and other senior officials.
His efforts succeeded when the BSF confirmed Sheikh’s return. Sheikh had been in custody at a police station in Bangladesh. He was formally deported back to India.
“It is possible that he will be released today,” Isha Khan told reporters. He called it “very good news” for his family and community.
The case is likely to raise questions about verification processes for suspected illegal immigrants. Experts say stricter checks are needed to prevent wrongful detentions and deportations.
Sheikh’s return will bring relief to his family and the people of Jalalpur. They had been waiting anxiously for his homecoming.
