The Gaza Ministry of Health has condemned Israel’s destruction of the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital—the only specialized cancer treatment center in the enclave—calling it a “heinous crime.”
The United Nations human rights office has expressed horror over the recent escalation, revealing that more than 200 children and over 110 women have been killed in renewed Israeli attacks this week.
Following Israel’s breaking of the ceasefire on Tuesday, nearly 600 Palestinians have been killed. The Gaza Health Ministry reports that at least 49,617 Palestinians have lost their lives, while 112,950 others have been wounded. Meanwhile, Gaza’s Government Media Office updated the overall death toll to more than 61,700, noting that thousands are still missing under the rubble and are presumed dead.
Israel’s bombardment follows the Hamas-led October 7, 2023, attack, in which 1,139 people were killed in Israel, and over 200 were taken captive.
