Israeli Army Withdraws from Tubas After 30-Hour Raid, Four Palestinians Killed

31 August 2024: The Israeli army has withdrawn from Tubas, a city in the northern West Bank, following a 30-hour military operation that resulted in the deaths of four Palestinians. The withdrawal from the Far’a refugee camp, located south of Tubas, comes after a large-scale raid that also caused widespread damage to homes and infrastructure, according to Palestinian security sources, reported Al Jazeera.

During the operation, which spanned Tulkarm, Jenin, and Tubas refugee camps, the Israeli forces sought to apprehend individuals suspected of involvement in operations against Israel. The escalation in violence follows the outbreak of the Hamas-Israel conflict on October 7, 2023, leading to increased tensions across the West Bank.

The Palestine Monetary Authority reported disruptions to banking services in Jenin as Israeli forces destroyed Internet cables, affecting some bank branches. The authority assured that services would resume once the fibre cables are repaired.

This latest military action is part of a broader conflict that has intensified in the region, raising concerns over the escalating violence and its impact on Palestinian communities.
