Israeli forces continue relentless bombing in Gaza amid ongoing ceasefire talks

Gaza City : Despite ongoing ceasefire negotiations, Israeli forces intensified their military assault on Gaza on Saturday, bombing a residential house in Gaza City and killing at least 12 people. This comes just a day after 78 Palestinians were reportedly killed in attacks across the besieged coastal strip. In total, Saturday’s bombings have claimed the lives of at least 27 people across various locations in Gaza, reported the Al Jazeera.
While Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office confirmed that a delegation would be sent to Qatar for ceasefire talks, it rejected recent changes proposed by Hamas to the terms of the agreement, calling them “unacceptable.”
The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that since late May, Israeli forces have killed at least 743 Palestinians in strikes on sites allegedly connected with the US- and Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).
According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, the total Palestinian death toll from Israel’s war on Gaza has now reached 57,338, with 135,957 wounded. On the Israeli side, 1,139 people were killed in the October 7, 2023, attacks, with over 200 individuals still held captive.
As the conflict escalates further, hope for a quick ceasefire remains uncertain.
