Hyderabad: Voicing concern over the disputes being created with false claims on mosques, AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi has said no nation can become a superpower if 14% of its population faces such constant pressures.
The Hyderabad MP took to social media platform ‘X’ on Saturday to react to the claim by Swaraj Vahini Association that 14th century Atala Mosque of Jaunpur is the ancient Atla Devi Hindu Temple.
The mosque committee has moved the Allahabad High Court challenging a local court’s order to direct registration of a suit claiming the mosque is the ancient temple.
“The people of India are being pushed into fights over history where none existed. No nation can become a superpower if 14% of its population faces such constant pressures,” wrote All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief.
“Behind every “Vahini” “Parishad” “Sena” etc., there is the invisible hand of the ruling party. They have a duty to defend the Places of Worship Act & put an end to these false disputes,” Owaisi said.
Earlier the MP also shared his thoughts on the 32nd anniversary of demolition of Babri Masjid. “We lost one Babri Masjid, now we will never lose another mosque,” he said amid the ongoing attempts in different parts of the country to create disputes.
Owaisi also posted a video clip of his old speech on Babri Masjid with the hashtag NeverForgetBabri. “Our fight was not for land but for legal rights, we do not want anything in alms. Give us what is our right,” he wrote.
The Lok Sabha member also reacted to threats to him. “I want to tell those oppressors who repeatedly threaten me, I am ready to die not once but a thousand times to save the mosques, dargahs and Waqf properties,” he said.
The AIMIM also reacted to the claim that there is a Shiva temple in the dargah of Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer. “The person who was given a notice of externment by Delhi Police in 2016 and who slapped a Supreme Court lawyer is filing a case in the court that Khwaja Ajmeri’s shrine is not a shrine,” said Owaisi
A local court in Ajmer on November 27 directed that notices be issued to three parties in a civil suit which claims that there is Shiva temple in Ajmer dargah.
Vishnu Gupta, national president of Hindu Sena, has filed a petition seeking a survey of Ajmer dargah.
The petitioner claimed that before the 11th century C.E., a temple of Lord Shiva existed in the place where the Ajmer dargah stands today. He also stated that Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti had come to India accompanying Muhammad Ghori as his adviser and that at the time Ajmer was named as Ajay Meru.
