IUML Condemns Nagpur Violence, Demands Release of Innocent Detainees

Mumbai: The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has strongly condemned the communal violence in Nagpur, holding Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) responsible for instigating attacks against Muslims.
In a press statement, IUML National President Prof. K.M. Kader Mohideen expressed deep sorrow over the riots, stating that right-wing groups had desecrated the Holy Quran and provoked violence. He criticized these organizations for distorting history and inciting hatred against Muslim rulers based on misleading portrayals in films.
Prof. Kader Mohideen pointed out that over 60 people, mostly Muslims, have been arrested, and a curfew has been imposed in several areas. He also cited Maharashtra Legislative Council opposition leader Ambadas Danve, who accused the BJP-led Maharashtra government of deliberately fueling tensions in Chief Minister Fadnavis’ home constituency.
IUML has demanded – Immediate release of innocent detainees and Compensation for victims of the riots. IUML leaders, including Maharashtra President Aslam Khan and General Secretary Abdul Rahman C.H., are actively pursuing justice, urging authorities to prosecute the real perpetrators instead of targeting innocent Muslims. They have sought an urgent meeting with senior police officials to discuss wrongful arrests and fabricated charges.
