New Delhi: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) has expressed deep sorrow and condolences over the devastating plane crash that occurred in the Uttara area of Dhaka, Bangladesh. The crash, which involved a military aircraft, resulted in the deaths of at least 19 people, including children and the pilot, and left over 100 others injured. Among the structures damaged was Milestone School and College, adding to the heartbreak of the incident.
Prof. Salim Engineer, Vice President of JIH, issued a statement expressing solidarity with the people of Bangladesh and the grieving families. “We are deeply saddened by the tragic plane crash in Dhaka’s Uttara area. Our thoughts and sincere prayers are with the families of the victims, the injured, and all those impacted by this unimaginable tragedy,” he said.
Prof. Salim particularly mourned the loss of young lives and the damage to the educational institution, calling it “a tragic loss for the community.” He added, “May the souls of the departed rest in peace, and may the injured find strength and healing during this difficult time.”
He also commended the efforts of rescue teams and frontline workers for their prompt and courageous response in the face of chaos and destruction.
