In a heartfelt display of interfaith unity and compassion, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), Mumbai, organized a soulful Eid Milan and Sadbhavna Award Ceremony recently, that brought together over 300 guests from diverse religious and social backgrounds. The event served as a vibrant platform to celebrate communal harmony and reaffirm the values of mutual respect and ethical nation-building.
The Chief Guest of the evening was Jamaat-e-Islami Hind National President, Janab Syed Sadatullah Hussaini, who delivered a powerful keynote address. Speaking on the need for communal harmony and ethical governance, he emphasized the importance of dialogue, empathy, and understanding in navigating today’s increasingly polarized society. His address was met with resounding appreciation from the audience, who resonated with his call for a morally grounded and inclusive India.
One of the highlights of the evening was the conferring of the Sadbhavna Award to renowned activist and author Mr. Ram Puniyani, in recognition of his tireless efforts in promoting peace, justice, and communal amity across the nation.
The event also honoured unsung heroes with the Heroes of Society Awards:
Mr. Arif Bamne, who courageously saved lives during the tragic Gateway of India boat accident.
Mr. Javed Ismail Khan, who earned widespread respect for his compassionate service of performing Antim Sanskar (last rites) for unclaimed non-Muslim bodies—an act symbolizing humanity beyond religious divides.
The Eid Milan was not merely a festive gathering, but a poignant reminder of the shared values that bind communities together—compassion, service, and unity. The event concluded with warm interactions, heartfelt conversations, and a renewed commitment to building a just and inclusive society.
