Jamaat President Addresses Diplomats and Eminent Personalities at Eid Milan Event

New Delhi, April 8: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind hosted a grand Eid Milan celebration at the India International Centre. The event saw participation from representatives of embassies of over 15 countries, along with religious leaders from various faiths, Members of Parliament from different political parties, and dignitaries from civil society, political, social, and educational organizations. Media personalities and individuals with outstanding contributions in various fields were also present. Nearly 350 distinguished guests attended the gathering.

The primary objective of the event was to share the joy of Eid with influential members of society and to promote the message of peace and justice for building a better and more inclusive community.

Addressing the gathering, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind President Syed Sadatullah Husaini emphasized that festivals are among the best means to bring people together. However, he lamented that today some elements are misusing festivals to divide rather than unite. “A climate has emerged where people have begun to fear festivals. In such times, Eid Milan events have become more essential than ever,” he said. “Instead of building divisive walls, festivals should serve as bridges that connect people. These gatherings should become opportunities to meet, engage, and work collectively to ensure justice for all sections of society.”

Highlighting the importance of diverse participation, he added, “The presence of people from different countries, ideologies, faiths, and institutions on this sacred occasion sends a powerful message of unity, mutual respect, and social harmony.”

Touching on the Waqf Act, the Jamaat President termed it an unjust law and called for united resistance across the country. “This legislation is based on religious discrimination and division. We must collectively oppose it,” he stated. On this occasion, he also appealed to representatives of various embassies to push for positive and constructive progress on the Palestinian issue. “It is the duty of the international community, every nation, and every individual to stand against the ongoing brutality in Palestine and work together to establish peace and justice,” he urged.
