New Delhi: Jamia Hamdard, in partnership with the African-Asian Rural Development Organisation (AARDO), successfully conducted a five-day online workshop from November 11 to 15. The workshop focused on advancing actionable strategies and fostering discussions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The inaugural session, held on November 11, opened with a warm welcome by Prof. Reshma Nasreen, Chairperson, Centre for Training and Development, Jamia Hamdard. Prof. Syeedun Nisa, Honorary Director of the Centre, provided an overview of the workshop’s objectives. Distinguished speakers included Dr. Manoj Nardeo Singh and Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam, Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard, who delivered presidential remarks. The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Ms. Manpreet Kaur Bhatia.
The workshop featured insightful sessions on specific SDGs, including:
SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-Being, led by Prof. Reshma Nasreen.
SDG 5 – Gender Equality, with discussions by Dr. M. A. Sikandar, Registrar, Jamia Hamdard, and Prof. Syeedun Nisa.
SDG 13 – Climate Action, presented by Prof. Sapna Narula.
SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities, conducted by Prof. Rehan Khan Suri.
Integration and Action Planning, led by Syed Mahmood Akhtar, Retired IRS Officer.
The workshop concluded on November 15 with a valedictory session featuring a summary presentation by Dr. Sherin Zafar and remarks by Dr. Khushnood Ali from AARDO. The event ended with a Vote of Thanks by Prof. Syeedun Nisa.
The program was coordinated by Ms. Tomina Cherian, Assistant Professor, Centre for Training and Development, ensuring a seamless experience for participants.
