Jamia Hamdard and Heal The Globe Foundation Host Successful Plantation Drive

New Delhi, July 27: Jamia Hamdard, in collaboration with Heal The Globe Foundation and Delhi Police, successfully organized a plantation drive here today. The event took place near the Convention Centre on the Jamia Hamdard campus, with the Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam, leading the initiative.

Besides the Vice Chancellor, other prominent attendees included Dr. M.A. Sikandar, Registrar; Mr. S.S. Akhtar, Controller of Examinations; Dr. Sarfaraz Ahsan, Deputy Registrar; Prof. Md. Shahnawaz Abdin, Provost of the Boys Hostel; Mr. Ram Sunder, OSD, Estate & Security; Mr. Azhar Ali Khan, Executive Engineer; students of Jamia Hamdard; Mr. Ashish Baisoya, Director; Ms. Jyoti Sharma, Deputy Director of Heal The Globe Foundation; and Mr. Anil Kumar, S.I., Delhi Police. Together, they planted trees near the Convention Centre.

In his address, Prof. Alam emphasized the crucial role of plants and trees in daily life, noting Jamia Hamdard’s reputation for its lush green campus. He announced that 150 trees were planted during the drive, with plans to plant a total of 5,000 diverse trees on the campus and in surrounding areas in collaboration with Heal The Globe Foundation and other NGOs over the year.

Prof. Alam expressed his gratitude to Mr. Ashish Baisoya, Ms. Jyoti Sharma, the Registrar, the Controller of Examinations, and other university officers for their efforts in organizing the plantation drive.

Dr. M.A. Sikandar, Registrar, also thanked the Vice Chancellor, COE, university officers, the Heal The Globe Foundation team, and the Delhi Police for their support.

The program was anchored by Prof. Md. Shahnawaz Abdin, and Dr. Sarfaraz Ahsan, Deputy Registrar, proposed the vote of thanks.
