New Delhi: Jamia Hamdard celebrated its Annual Hostel Day Function for Girls on Friday. The event brought together students and distinguished guests for an evening of camaraderie, cultural vibrancy, and recognition of talent.
The event was graced by Ms. Nidhi Kulpati, Managing Editor of NDTV, as the Chief Guest. She was joined by the Guest of Honour, Dr. Subi Chaturvedi, Senior Vice President and Chief Corporate Affairs and Public Policy Officer at INMOBI. Ms. Hena Parveen, a renowned educationist, joined as the Special Guest.
The celebration was presided over by Hammad Ahmed, Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard, and co-presided by Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam, Vice Chancellor. Several distinguished officials, including Mr. Jagat Bhushan Kapil, Deputy Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of NCT of Delhi, Registrar, Controller of Examinations, DSW, Chief Proctor and FSA, were also in attendance.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Prof. Syeedun Nisa, Provost (Girls), who set the tone for the evening. The event was meticulously coordinated by Dr. Iram Khan, Warden of Ibn-e-Sina Hostel, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all participants.
Students from all five girls’ hostels – Rabia, AMHR, Ibn-e-Sina, JLN, and Razia Sultan – enthusiastically participated in a variety of fun-filled and creative activities. The event showcased their talent and energy through fashion shows, dance performances, stand-up comedy, skits, and more, turning the evening into a vibrant celebration of youth and culture.
The highlight of the event was the announcement of the winners. Rabia Girls Hostel emerged victorious, earning the title of overall winner. AMHR Hostel was declared the first runner-up, while Ibn-e-Sina and JLN Hostels shared the second runner-up position, showcasing the competitive spirit and teamwork among the participants.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr. Uzma Akhtar Khan, Deputy Provost, who expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries, organizers, and participants for making the celebration a grand success.
