New Delhi: Jamia Hamdard hosted the ‘At Home – Meet and Greet 2025’ event at the Vice Chancellor’s official residence to extend a warm welcome to newly admitted international students. The event, marked by a spirit of inclusivity and cultural exchange, was attended by prominent university officials, including Hon’ble Chancellor Janab Hammad Ahmed, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam, Registrar Dr. M.A. Sikandar, Controller of Examinations Mr. Syed Saud Akhtar, Dean of Students’ Welfare Prof. (Dr.) Reshma Nasreen, and Provost (Girls) Prof. (Dr.) Syeedun Nisa.
The gathering was graciously hosted by Mrs. Heena Parveen, an educationist and social worker, and the spouse of the Vice Chancellor. She welcomed the students with kind words and a lavish meal, creating a warm and homely atmosphere. The international students shared their academic experiences and aspirations, reflecting the diverse and dynamic student community at Jamia Hamdard.
In his address, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam lauded the efforts of the Foreign Students’ Advisor (FSA) team in ensuring a smooth transition for international students into the university ecosystem. He encouraged the students to focus on their academic journey and uphold excellence while also reminding them of their role as ambassadors of Jamia Hamdard in their respective countries. He reiterated the university’s commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
The program was conducted by Dr. Noria Farooqui, Deputy FSA, with a welcome address delivered by University FSA Prof. (Dr.) Zeenat and a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Jawed Ahmed, Deputy FSA. The event concluded with vibrant student performances, adding a celebratory touch to the evening.
