New Delhi, August 13, 2024: In a significant achievement, Jamia Hamdard has secured the top position in the Pharmacy category in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024, marking its sixth time since the rankings were introduced in 2016. The rankings, released on August 12, 2024, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, were presented by the Union Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan.
Jamia Hamdard’s consistent performance in Pharmacy underscores its excellence in teaching, research, and professional practices, key parameters assessed by the NIRF. The university also made strides in other categories, securing 40th place in the ‘University’ category, 62nd in the ‘Overall’ category, 37th in ‘Medical’, 78th in ‘Management’, and a position within the 201-300 band in ‘Engineering’.
Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam, Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard, expressed his pride upon receiving the award and urged the university community to continue their efforts to maintain this top ranking. He also highlighted the university’s improved standings in several other categories and extended his gratitude to the Chancellor Hammad Ahmed, for his unwavering support in advancing the institution’s quality initiatives.
The achievement was celebrated by the Dean of the School of Pharmaceutical Education & Research, Prof. (Dr.) Farhan Jalees Ahmad, along with the Registrar, Dr. M.A. Sikandar, and key members of the NIRF team, faculty, students, and staff of Jamia Hamdard.
