New Delhi, April 28: The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Jamia Hamdard, under the School of Engineering Sciences and Technology (SEST), accomplished a triumphant two-day venture with the 4th International Conference on ICT for Digital, Smart, and Sustainable Development (ICIDSSD ‘24) on April 23-24, 2024. This event unfolded at the Hamdard Convention Centre, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi.
The conference convened esteemed researchers, scholars, industry experts, and engineers from diverse institutions to exchange insights, discoveries, and applications in their respective fields of work.
ICIDSSD had its inaugural edition on March 15-16, 2019, under the guidance of Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam. Subsequent editions in 2020 and 2022 garnered success, with proceedings published in the EAI series. The steadfast support from the Hamdard National Foundation (HNF) has been instrumental in nurturing the conference’s growth, with ICIDSSD ‘24 being the latest edition, sponsored by HNF and approved by Springer for publication in the Innovations in Sustainable Technologies and Computing Series.
The inaugural ceremony witnessed the presence of Prof. K.K. Aggarwal, President of South Asian University, New Delhi, as the Chief Guest, and Prof. (Dr.) D.P. Agrawal, Former Chairman of UPSC, as the keynote speaker. Mr. Hammad Ahmed, Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard and Chief Patron of ICIDSSD ‘24, has played a pivotal role in fostering the conference.
Leading the proceedings was Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam, whose leadership has been indispensable not only to Jamia Hamdard but also to ICIDSSD.
Prof. (Dr.) Farheen Siddiqui, Head of Department and Dean of SEST, extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guests and dignitaries, nurturing an environment ripe for innovative discussions.
The panel discussions featured esteemed guests such as Dr. Jagdish Chand Bansal, Associate Professor and Acting Director (ICT) at SAU, New Delhi, and Major Gen. Ramesh C. Padhi, Additional Surveyor General of India, among others.
ICIDSSD ‘24 received significant backing from sponsors like BEB, NUBYS, Learn Ziel, Core Pedia, and others, enriching the conference with poster displays, industry-academia interactions, and cultural exchanges.
With the support of Springer, ICIDSSD ‘24 attracted around 450 high-quality paper submissions from prestigious institutions worldwide, culminating in the selection of 40 papers for publication in the Springer Series. Extended papers will be considered for publication in Scopus and WoS journals.
Over the course of two days, ICIDSSD ‘24 facilitated a stimulating environment for exploration, collaboration, and innovation, featuring 15 tracks and 147 paper presentations. A vibrant cultural evening organized by Epoch team members captivated the audience, while industry-academia interactions provided students with valuable networking opportunities.
The Valedictory ceremony, graced by Mr. Sajid Ahmed, CEO of HNF-(HECA), and Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam, honored outstanding posters, papers, and team members.
Conference Secretaries, Dr. Sherin Zafar and Dr. Imran Hussain, expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, and CEO of HNF-(HECA) for their unwavering support and encouragement.
