Jamia Millia Islamia Student Mohammad Shahbaz Alam Wins Prestigious GO4Youth 2025 Award

New Delhi: Mohammad Shahbaz Alam, a postgraduate student pursuing M.Tech in Energy Science and Technology at Jamia Millia Islamia University, has been conferred the prestigious GO4Youth 2025 Award by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). The award is part of the Green Olympiad for Youth initiative, supported by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MOEFCC), and the Ministry of Education, Government of India, reported the Sadaa Times.
Originally from Begusarai, Bihar, Shahbaz was honored during a hybrid felicitation ceremony held at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi on Earth Day 2025. His recognition came in appreciation of his outstanding commitment to innovation and sustainability during the 2024-25 project cycle.
This achievement underscores Jamia Millia Islamia’s continued emphasis on advanced research and sustainable practices to confront global environmental challenges. The GO4Youth Olympiad evaluates young participants based on their knowledge, capability, and dedication to environmental protection.
Shahbaz’s work highlighted his expertise in green energy science and aligned with India’s national goals for climate resilience and sustainable development. Reflecting on his journey, Shahbaz credited his success to the unwavering support of his parents and professors. “Growing up in Begusarai, I witnessed the impact of environmental issues first-hand. My goal is to develop accessible clean energy solutions for rural communities,” he said.

His recognition not only brings pride to Jamia Millia Islamia but also serves as an inspiration for youth working toward environmental innovation and climate action.
