Jeddah Airport Crosses 50 Million Passenger Mark in 2025

Jeddah: King Abdulaziz International Airport recorded a historic milestone with the arrival of its 50 millionth passenger in 2025. The achievement sets a new national record and marks the highest passenger volume recorded by any airport in Saudi Arabia since the start of civil aviation.

Official figures show passenger traffic reached 50 million during the year, rising from 49.1 million in 2024. This growth rate stood at 1.83 percent. The milestone places the Jeddah airport among the world’s largest airports by passenger volume and reflects steady expansion in air travel demand.

The 50 millionth passenger was a French national who arrived from Paris on a Saudia flight. She travelled to Jeddah to take part in a sports tournament hosted in the city. Airport officials welcomed her upon arrival and presented a commemorative gift to mark the occasion.

The airport serves as a key gateway for pilgrims travelling to Makkah and Madinah. It handles large volumes of Umrah performers, Hajj pilgrims, and international visitors throughout the year. Operational planning focuses on managing peak travel seasons while maintaining smooth passenger movement.

Jeddah Airports Company leadership described the milestone as a result of high operational readiness and long term planning. The management highlighted ongoing upgrades in terminal services, passenger processing systems, and logistics support. These steps aim to prepare the airport for further growth in the coming years.

The passenger record also reflects Saudi Arabia’s wider efforts to expand tourism, sports events, and international connectivity. Jeddah continues to strengthen its role as a central entry point to the Kingdom and to the Two Holy Mosques.
