Ranchi: Amid growing tensions surrounding the controversial Waqf (Amendment) Act, Jharkhand Health Minister Irfan Ansari has categorically stated that the Act will not be allowed to take effect in the state. Addressing a public gathering, Ansari came down heavily on the BJP, accusing the ruling party of attempting to strip minorities of their constitutional rights.
“The BJP is acting like a demon, trying to swallow our rights and privileges,” Ansari thundered. He alleged that the Modi-led Central government is deliberately targeting the minority community through divisive and oppressive legislation such as the Waqf Act.
“Our land, our identity, and our rights are being taken away. I want to make it absolutely clear—I will never allow the Waqf Act to be implemented in Jharkhand,” he asserted. He further accused the Centre of exhibiting a “dictatorial attitude,” saying it will not be allowed to impose its will on the people of Jharkhand.
Ansari did not mince words, claiming the Act is part of a broader, calculated strategy to marginalize Muslims. Declaring himself as the voice of the Muslim community, he vowed to continue fighting for minority rights and to uphold the principles enshrined in the Constitution “till my last breath.”
