Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Promotes Compassion and Community Through ‘Ideal Neighbour, Ideal Society’ Initiative

Beawar: As part of its nationwide campaign on “Rights of Neighbours”, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) Beawar organized a press conference where the State President of JIH Rajasthan, Mohammad Nazimuddin, addressed the media. He announced that Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has launched a ten-day national drive titled “Ideal Neighbour, Ideal Society” from November 21 to November 30, 2025.

The aim of the campaign is to rekindle the spirit of compassion and understanding among neighbours and to strengthen community bonds across the country. Nazimuddin emphasized that Islam attaches great importance to neighbours’ rights, considering them a cornerstone of a harmonious society.

Quoting teachings from the Quran, he explained that believers are instructed to treat not only their immediate neighbours but also temporary ones—such as colleagues, co-passengers, or even fellow pedestrians—with kindness and respect. “Through this campaign, we wish to remind the people of these essential teachings and inspire them to become good neighbours, thereby presenting the true image of Islam,” he said.

Nazimuddin highlighted that a society founded on strong neighbourly relations becomes exemplary by itself. “When neighbours treat each other with compassion, patience, and justice, the positive energy transforms the whole community. We hope this campaign will not only help resolve disputes among neighbours but also promote the Islamic values of mercy and social responsibility,” he added.

He also pointed out that the campaign aims to address the growing sense of isolation in urban areas which has weakened neighbourly relationships. The initiative promotes empathy, cooperation, cleanliness, and traffic discipline as part of civic and Islamic duties.

JIH Rajasthan’s Joint Secretary Mumtaz Ali informed that the campaign includes interfaith meetings, tea gatherings, special programs for women and youth, cleanliness drives in neighbourhoods, awareness rallies on road rights, and cultural competitions. Special focus will be given to engaging non-Muslim residents to foster mutual harmony and dispel misconceptions about Islam.

Other dignitaries present at the event included Sarfaraz Ahmed, Secretary, Students Islamic Organisation of India (Rajasthan), Naeema Khanam, JIH Rajasthan member, Zahida Bano, and Shamsuddin Kathat, President, JIH Beawar.
