In a strong statement, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) Vice President Prof. Salim Engineer condemned the tragic and unjust killing of 19-year-old Aryan Mishra by cow vigilantes in Haryana’s Faridabad. The heinous crime, motivated by a communal mindset, highlights the grave dangers posed by cow vigilantism in our society.
Prof. Engineer emphasized that Aryan Mishra’s death is a stark reminder of how unchecked hatred inevitably turns on itself, with communal agendas often leading to the victimization of those within the same community. “The poison of hate spares no one, regardless of their background,” he stated, pointing out the alarming rise of such vigilante groups who seem to operate with extrajudicial powers, supported and protected by the police and their political patrons.
He called for the government and law enforcement agencies to take immediate and decisive action to curb the growing menace of cow vigilantism. Prof. Engineer also urged the judiciary to take timely cognizance of such criminal groups who are boldly taking the law into their own hands.
“The continued tolerance and tacit approval of such groups is unacceptable,” he declared, stressing the need for strict measures to bring these criminals to justice and prevent further loss of innocent lives. Prof. Engineer demanded swift justice for Aryan Mishra and called upon all responsible citizens to raise their voices against the vile trend of vigilantism that threatens the very fabric of the nation.
