JIH Delhi facilitates Aid Ideal Relief Trust’s distribution of rations among 1300 families

New Delhi, March 27: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Delhi President Mohammad Salimullah Khan emphasized that “Ramadan is the month of equality. To establish equality in society, feeding the poor, needy, destitute, and deserving creates an atmosphere of love and compassion. Cooperation fosters empathy. Providing food for the hungry is considered a great virtue in Islam; through it, one gets closer to Allah, and achieve success in this life and hereafter.”

He further highlighted the guidance of Allah’s Messenger ﷺ, stating, “Feed the hungry.” Those who provide food will enter Paradise.

Similarly, various forms of aiding the needy are mentioned in the Quran. If someone cannot fast, the expiation is to feed a needy person. It could generally be said that spending in the way of Allah and fulfilling the needs of the poor and needy is their duty. However, Allah has specifically encouraged feeding the poor, and His Messenger ﷺ designated feeding as a great charity, Salimullah emphasized.

Salimullah also stressed that a person can delay meeting other needs, but delaying hunger for a long time is not possible. There are countless forms of welfare activities, but nowadays, feeding the hungry is an extremely important and necessary task that requires the immediate attention of philanthropists.

Regarding the distribution program of ration kits throughout Delhi, Salimullah said it should be noted that Jamaat-e-Islami Hind conducts a ration distribution program every year during Ramadan. This year, in the blessed month of Ramadan, the Food Kit Distribution is being carried out for needy individuals through Ideal Relief Trust. Twenty-three units of JIH Delhi are actively participating in the ration distribution program. JIH Delhi members worked hard to identify the poor and needy people in these areas and ensuring that this food aid is given only to deserving individuals as their endeavor. These areas include Karawal Nagar, Seelampur, Jafrabad, Babarpur, Kabir Nagar, Karawal Nagar Extension, Wazirabad, Kareemnagar, Gareeb Nawaz Nagar, and Sawdani Bagh, along with Zakir Nagar, Abu Al-Fazal Enclave, Shahi Bagh, Kanchan Kunj, Jaitpur, and Khurijji Khazwa, Aaram Park, Ramesh Park, Lalta Park, Lakshmi Nagar, Geeta Colony, and Mandawali. Approximately 1300 families have been provided with ration kits.
