JIH Delhi President Salimullah Khan Appeals to Every Citizen of Delhi to Vote

New Delhi, May 22: Muhammad Salimullah Khan, President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Delhi, has appealed to the public to vote in large numbers in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections scheduled in Delhi on May 25. He emphasized the undeniable importance of elections in a democracy, where citizens play a crucial role in shaping the future of their country. While the responsibility of the public should extend beyond just voting, their enthusiasm in elections is vital for holding the government accountable.

Khan specifically addressed Muslims, cautioning them against the naive belief that the formation of a particular party’s government would solve all their problems. He urged Muslims to work towards the nation’s development and progress in the light of divine guidance. There is no shortcut to tackling this challenge. However, during election times, Muslims should vote wisely and with the country’s welfare in mind, choosing candidates who are champions of justice and uphold constitutional values.

He stressed that every citizen should vote and avoid falling prey to politics of hate. Muslims, in particular, must remember their religious duty to promote good and prevent evil. Therefore, men and women, especially the youth, should vote positively and constructively for the nation’s well-being and participate in the May 25 elections. Furthermore, they should be ready to contribute to eradicating hatred and communalism, and strive for genuine peace, love, and prosperity in the country.
